Top 10 Ironman Lessons Learned to Drive Sales

How can you truly know the limits of what you can achieve until you test yourself? No matter what you think the odds are, they’re always greater if you don’t try. In the same vein, those same odds drop in your favor as soon as you set out to try something. The major obstacle to overcoming any odds is never challenging them.

To me, that’s what becoming an Ironman is all about. It’s more than a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile swim and 26.2 mile marathon run – without a break. It’s really not even all about crossing the finish line or beating the competition. Becoming an Ironman is about perseverance, overcoming the odds, pushing the boundaries of what you thought that you could ever do, digging deep down and pulling out a personal victory that will stay with you for a lifetime. It takes a certain attitude and commitment, goal-setting, measurement and practice. That’s why I love to use it as an analogy for sales. In fact, I love it so much I made it my Twitter handle, @IronmanJack.
