SALES MANAGER FORUM GROWS NATIONWIDE!

Responding to the question “Is there an organization where Sales Managers can meet together for ongoing, high level learning opportunity and challenges specific to leading a sales force?” we created the first group in early 2017. With a max group size of 15, this group had nothing but rave reviews to report. We continue to meet through the year, drilling down on a myriad of challenges and opportunities, and enabling an outside mechanism for enhanced accountability. I encourage you to watch the video testimonials and overview by me on the forum.

Given such success, we have decided to go nationwide in 2018, with an eye to international groups in 2019. Locations for the new Forum groups will be:

Must read book – ESSENTIALISM: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown. Thanks to one of my clients that I’m CEO Coaching for this book recommendation. Once I started it, impossible to stop. My reading journey was cover to cover, and my Kindle has a mass amount of underscoring. As a speaker, I have several favorite sayings. McKeown keys on one of those, “Focus Precedes Success”. As I read the book, I kept remembering of the Steve Jobs answer to the question of what he was most proud of, with all of his fantastic accomplishments. His answer was the number of times he said NO to the many opportunities he was presented. Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn put it this way – “Essentialism offers concise and eloquent advice on how to determine what you care about most, and how to apply your energies in ways that ultimately bring you the greatest rewards”. Packed with easy to implement ideas relayed in a simple to read fashion, read this book and experience a blossoming of your life!

The frustrating part of what I do as a speaker/teacher is relying on others to “take action”. Frustrating especially when you hear about the challenges of a tightened economy, and yet too many folks not taking the actions needed to WIN.

CANCER FIGHT JUST GOT PERSONAL

Here’s the update on my wife Bonnie’s battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. After 20 consecutive weeks of chemo combined with a clinical study drug, the cancer has figured it out and begun to further move to her liver. As such, we are now switching out to a different chemo, in hopes of fooling it again and getting the early successes we experienced with the initial chemo (a fairly normal route in this battle). Bonnie and my spirits continue to be positive and committed to the victory.

As many know, I’m racing the NYC Marathon on November 5 (the date Bonnie and I met 52 years ago). I will be running to raise funds for cancer research for the Jimmy V Foundation. We have now raised over $100,000 and our thanks go out to so many for their generosity towards finding the cure and the ongoing love we feel with each donation. We all appreciate your consideration. And best thoughts for my wife Bonnie in her battle.
